Zanzibar III, Episode 3: Sebastian's Analog Prison (script and lyrics ONLY -- song releases Tues on the Decibel Magazine DeciBlog)

Having been condemned to Zanzibar's secret prison, Sebastian sits in a wretched cobbled and dusty cell, slumped before a small window, peering at the moon. He pines for his fiance Sasha.

Episode 3: Sebastian's Analog Prison - Lyrics

Sebastian is mournful and melancholy as he sings in vain to Sasha.

Sebastian: "both our hearts beat
under the same sky
tonight
the only comfort in this cell
is in that sky
outside"

Sebastian becomes frustrated and angry with his situation.

Sebastian: "And I'm locked in jail
and I've been in here
so damned long
I think I'll lose my mind
and I'm trapped in Hell
and when
I get out
I will rescue her
and we'll fight until we're"

Sebastian's confidence grows.

Sebastian: "Free!
Cause these walls
are closing in on me
These walls, these walls
are closing in on me
These walls are so threatening
and closing in on me
these walls, these walls
are closing in on me

and when I get out
I will rescue her
and we'll fight until we're
Free!"

Determined now to escape, Sebastian turns his thoughts to Sasha as he formulates his plan.

Sebastian: "Both our hearts beat
under the same sky
tonight
the only comfort in this cell
is in that sky
outside"

Keep an eye out for the release of this new song, which will debut this Tuesday on the Decibel Magazine Deciblog, from our upcoming rock opera Zanzibar III: Analog Prison.

Lyrics: Sebastian's Analog Prison

Sebastian's Analog Prison

both our hearts beat
under the same sky
tonight
the only comfort in this cell
is in that sky
outside

and I'm locked in jail
and I've been in here
so damned long
I think I'll lose my mind
and I'm trapped in Hell
and when
I
get out
I
will rescue her
and we'll fight until we're

Free!
Cause these walls
are closing in on me
These walls, these walls
are closing in on me
These walls are so threatening
and closing in on me
these walls, these walls
are closing in on me

and when I get out
I
will rescue her
and we'll fight until we're

Free!

both our hearts beat
under the same sky
tonight
the only comfort in this cell
is in that sky
outside

Look What I Did releases Lyric Video for My Girlfriend, Leo Strauss

Hey guys,

Skeet crafted a most-psychedelic and informative lyric video to promote our song My Girlfriend, Leo Strauss from Atlas Drugged. These provide a great way to share, not only the sound, but the content and depth of the song found in the lyrics. This one puts a crushing fist to the face of the political philosopher Leo Strauss.

Check it out below and share it with your friends!

The Trial of Sebastian Lyric Prewrite

these are the original scratch notes I make when working the rhythms out while writing a song. This is all subject to change, and the full script will be available in the final version.

Bailiff: All Rise for the honorable Magistrate Lord Witherow as he prepares to issue the verdict in the trial of the wicked Sebastian for high crimes against Lake Panic

The Jury: What kind of court is this? The verdict comes first?

Sebastian:
So this it?
This is the process?
I get no defense?
What will happen to me?

Lawyer:
I don't get these trials
You haven't got much chance
But you will get a brief defense
After the sentence

Magistrate Lord Witherow:
In judging the case of the wicked cruelty of Sebastian, addressing his alleged crimes of aggressive intent against Lake Panic, I find him guilty of all such charges and sentence him to death.

The Jury:
What kind of court is this? This ain't a fair trial.

Solicitor Proton (presenting the prosecution's arguments)
Sebastian
He's bad / He's Guilty x4
He's bad
Must die
He's bad
So bad
Much proof
(that) He's bad
Much proof
He's bad
Must die
He's bad
He's bad
So bad
He's bad

Sebastian:
i am before you
in humble judgment
lend me your ear
they came to my peaceful home
and seized my love, and took her here
and if you were in my hooves
and the same thing happened to you
if they took your love so true
you do the same fuckin thing too!

The Jury:
We find the defendant innocent of the crime, of the crime, of the crime

What kind of court is this? Its just a recommendation? What?

Magistrate Lord Witherow: The recommendation is rejected. The sentence now applies to the jury, and they too shall share Sebastian's fate.

A dark, moody song wrote itself in a spontaneous improv jam while we were warming up at rehearsal

Today when we were warming up to rehearse, jamming started, which often happens with us (and nobody hears it), which facilitated our realization of a dark, moody atmospheric song. I turned the camera on ASAP and grabbed a mic to put some atmospheric tones into the mix. This is all improv, but somehow a song did write itself. I'm going to post more of our improvisational stuff from now on, because sometimes a lot of "gem" moments can come out of them. -Barry
